Arena - Saturday & Sunday - British Water Ski Tournament National Championships

The UK Sport, sportengland and Fat Face backed British Water Ski Team are having yet another successful season on the international stage.

This weekend the team return to home waters and with World Champions at every age level the British National Championships will see world standard competition on British Water Ski’s National Training Site at Thorpe in Surrey.

In men’s slalom 2005/6 World Champion, Will Asher , who is also leading the 2008 IWSF Elite Rankings, will be taking on 2007 World Cup Champion Jodi Fisher. Both are on top form. Asher has been on a winning streak already taking the 2008 US Masters titles and wins on the US Pro Tour, whilst Fisher won last weekend’s World Cup stop in Moscow to kick off his 2008 World Cup campaign. 2005/6 World’s silver medallist Glenn Campbell will be looking to challenge both Asher and Fisher as he returns from injury.

In women’s slalom 2007/8 World Open and Under 21 Champion Nicole Arthur, who won the Alizee Cup in France two weekends ago, will be skiing against Sarah Green, the 2005 World Championship silver medallist, now returning to competition after taking a year off for the birth of her son.

Off the men’s jump ramp the British trio of Jason Seels, Tom Asher and Damien Sharman occupied every step of the podium at the 2007 European Championships. Sharman & Asher will be seeking to overcome the consistent form of Seels who recently won the French Masters jump title and has regularly been on the podium on the US Pro Tour.

The depth of British Water Ski talent has never been better and it all makes for an intriguing 2008 National Championships.
