Fat Face Night Jump News

The 2008 Fat Face Night Jump is back this weeend on Saturday July 19th

All our users are encouraged to come and check out the event, with free, limited edition spectators passes available. To make sure you get your FREE passes click here and register for them on the Fat Face web site.   As well as relaxing by the lake, taking in some of the best UK and international wakeboarding talent, spectators will be able to have a go at wakeboarding (bring your friend if they do not ride), enjoy the all day BBQ, bar and music plus join in the frenzy of encouraging the wakeboarders as the finals hot up!

As the sun goes down the spotlights will come on, pointing directly at the high jump right where the competitors take off. There will also be fire cannons lighting up the lake – the competitor’s centre stage.

Ian Williams, Fat Face event manager, comments: “The Night Jump is just that – a wakeboard high jump comp, staged under the cover of darkness! Competitors have to clear the bar in order to move on to the next round; the bar being raised a little more each time. If they knock the bar, they’re eliminated from the rest of the competition. The format is simple – go high or go home!

“Due to the high level of talent the event saw last year, this year it looks like there will be an even higher standard of rider with wakeboarders potentially travelling from across Europe to compete.

”We’re delighted to be bringing the event back to JB Waterski for the second year running and look forward to welcoming spectators to check out this awesome event.”

Local resident Christien "CK" Koester took the Fat Face Night Jump 2007 crown by jumping a staggering 4.6m, still with about half a metre spare! Not only did he claim the accolade of setting a new record he also walked home with £2,000 prize money.
